Innovator | Technologist | Retired Seafarer | Filipino Inventor
Ivan Liguaton, a 64-year-old Filipino and retired seafarer with two decades of maritime experience, has seamlessly transitioned from the high seas to the frontlines of INTELLIZE ROBOTIC DESIGN AND BUILD  innovation. With a deep-rooted passion for technology and sustainability, Ivan has dedicated his post-retirement years to designing and building practical, forward-thinking solutions that address some of the Philippines’ most pressing environmental and infrastructure challenges.

From Sea to Systems:
A Career of Transformation Ivan’s professional journey began in the maritime industry, where he served for 20 years. His early exposure to global systems and operational complexity sparked a lifelong curiosity for technology. This curiosity evolved into a mission: to bridge traditional practices with modern innovation—especially in underserved and disaster-prone communities.
Inventive Solutions for a Resilient Future
Ivan has developed several groundbreaking technologies, many of which are now patented or pending utility model (UM) protection:
     • Compact Wastewater Treatment System – A patented, space-efficient solution for decentralized sanitation.
     • Ultrafiltration System for Water Purification – A pending UM patent that enhances access to clean water using advanced membrane technology.
     • Seismic Monitoring System – A pending UM patent designed to improve early warning and structural safety in earthquake-prone areas.
     • Flood Control Integrated with Groundwater Recharge Aquifer – A pending UM patent that combines flood mitigation with aquifer replenishment, offering a dual-purpose solution for climate resilience.

A Legacy of Technological Firsts Ivan has consistently been at the forefront of technological change in the Philippines:
     • 1983 – Among the first batch of Meralco employees to operate mainframe computers and launch desktop computing in the utility sector.
     • 1989 – One of the first Filipino maritime professionals to pioneer the use of computers onboard ships, playing a key role in training officers and engineers during the
global shift from typewriters to digital systems.
     • 2007 – Developed and implemented a computer-based Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) for the local shipping industry, accelerating its digital transformation.
     • 2019 – Designed and patented a chemical coagulant-based wastewater treatment system, now used in various local applications.

Metro Manila faces chronic flooding and groundwater depletion. Existing solutions are either too centralized or fail to address recharge. This invention offers a decentralized, dual-function system tailored for urban catchments.
Vision and Impact
Ivan’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to community empowerment, environmental stewardship, and practical engineering. His innovations are not just technical solutions—they are tools for resilience, equity, and sustainable development.

Vision Statement

To build a resilient Philippines where communities thrive in harmony with nature—free from the recurring threats of flooding and water scarcity—through sustainable, inclusive, and science-driven infrastructure that restores ecosystems and uplifts lives.

Mission Statement

We are committed to designing and implementing integrated flood control and groundwater recharge systems that:

Protect vulnerable communities from climate-induced disasters

Restore and preserve vital water resources

Promote sustainable livelihoods and public health

Empower local stakeholders through collaboration, transparency, and innovation

Champion solutions that serve not one, but all Filipinos—driven by purpose, not personal gain
